When you purchase the wrong clothing for your shape, you can end up looking different than you would like to. However, when you purchase clothing that fits your body shape then you will look great. There are several things that you will want to do when you are out shopping that will help you to know that you are purchasing the best clothing for yourself.

One thing that you will want to do is to take a good look at yourself in pictures. This can be the hard part, but you want to make sure that you are completely honest with yourself. You want to admit your faults to yourself and realize your own problem areas. It’s not until you admit your worst parts that you can truly shop for your body shape. If you have a friend that will be honest with you and that you trust, then you can ask them to help you out.

When you are trying on clothing you want to make sure that you try on clothing that will flatter your better parts and help you to conceal, or downplay your worst parts. For example, if you know that you have very broad shoulders then you will want to stay away from wearing blouses which have built in shoulder pads. The shoulder pads will leave your shoulders looking extra large and bulky. If you have short legs, then you don’t want to wear pants which flare out near the bottom because these will have your legs looking even shorter. A very tall person with skinny long legs will not want to wear pants which taper in toward the ankles because these will make your legs look oddly long.
